Fines
Overdue Circulating Books:
- Books may be renewed three times.
- Patrons with overdue books will receive notices.
- If the book has not been returned after three notices, a bill
will be issued which will include the cost of replacing and
processing the book as well as a non-refundable service
charge ($5.00).
- Lack of response to a bill results in either a hold being
placed on a student's registration or the revocation of local
borrowing privileges.
Overdue Recalled Books:
After a book has been in circulation two weeks, it may be recalled
for use by another borrower. A book which has been recalled is due
seven days from the day the recall notice is sent.
- A fine of two dollars ($2.00) per day will be imposed
beginning at the closing of the library on the seventh day.
- The two dollar per day fine will continue for ten days, with a
maximum fine of twenty dollars ($20.00).
- After ten days, the replacement cost will be added to the
twenty dollar fine.
Overdue Reserve Books:
- Reserve books taken out overnight are due within the first
hour after the library opens the next day.
- A fine of one dollar ($1.00) per book per hour or fraction
thereof will be imposed for each hour after the library
opens.
- The fine per day for each day the library is open, including
Saturday and Sunday, is ten dollars ($10.00).
- The fine schedule will continue for five days, with a maximum
fine of fifty dollars ($50.00) per book. After five days, a bill
will be sent for the replacement cost in addition to the fifty
dollar fine.
Lost Books:
A patron who has lost a book will be billed only for the
replacement and processing costs if the incident is reported before
an overdue bill is prepared. If the lost book is not reported before
a bill has been prepared, the service charge will be added
($5.00).
ALL FINES are expected to be paid upon return of the books.
