The United Library is open to the public. Books, however, may be checked out only by Garrett-Evangelical, Seabury-Western and Northwestern faculty, staff, and students in regular degree programs; and by students and faculty from the Association of Chicago Theological Schools. Other persons not affiliated with these institutions may purchase a local borrowers card and agree to follow library regulations.
The fee for a local borrowers card is waived for alumni/ae, as well as Episcopal and United Methodist clergy in the Chicago area. Mail loan services may be purchased by alumni/ae outside of the Chicago area.
Other persons may use their public or academic library's interlibrary loan services to request a book from The United Library.
